Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the independent provider that supplies search results. Farmington Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting services create ordinary logs, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand general readership. Cookies or comparable technologies may support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
We use the limited data described here to operate the service, troubleshoot problems, measure traffic, and improve content. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links may lead to Dakota County and Minnesota records portals, library collections, archives, or independent search tools. Each outside service controls its own privacy practices and terms. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Data Recipients
Providers that host or support the service process relevant server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and otherwise only as described here.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes stated above. There are no visitor accounts, so Farmington Residents Directory does not maintain a visitor password or account profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
The Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act, effective July 31, 2025, gives Minnesota consumers rights concerning data held by covered businesses, including rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out in situations described by the law. Because this service retains very little visitor information, a request ordinarily involves checking the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Send a request through the Contact page. Public records held by Minnesota, Dakota County, or Farmington custodians are outside our control. Minnesota Government Data Practices Act requests are governed by Minnesota Statutes chapter 13 and must go to the responsible government custodian.
Policy Updates
Changes to this policy will appear here. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
